GearSweep is designed as an offline-first app. The core experience does not require an account, advertising identifier, or cloud service. Your Gear, Kits, Activities, photos, optional locations, settings, and diagnostic records are stored locally on your device unless you explicitly export a backup.

GearSweep does not sell personal information and does not use your data for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.

You may create and store Gear, Container, Kit and Activity details; item quantities, priorities and confirmation history; local photos; reminder settings; optional Activity coordinates; preferences; privacy metrics and diagnostic logs.

This information remains in local app storage unless you use an iOS feature to move, back up, or share it.

Notifications and Live Activities

Used to deliver reminders and show confirmation progress. Privacy-sensitive surfaces show counts rather than item names. Delivery is controlled by iOS and may be delayed or unavailable.

Location

If you enable departure reminders, GearSweep uses location permission to register a geofence after Pack Out is complete. Location access is optional. GearSweep does not build a location history or upload coordinates. Region events may arrive late, so time reminders remain primary.

Photos, camera, microphone and speech recognition

These permissions are used only when you actively capture or select a photo, or hold voice input to dictate an item name. Photos and recognized text remain with local records.

When you export a backup, GearSweep creates a versioned archive that may include records and photos. You choose where to save or share it through iOS. Keep exported files in a trusted location.

Local data remains until you delete records, remove the app, erase the device, or replace data during a confirmed import. Export anything you want to keep before deleting the app.
